Arrival Day: Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be transferred to Moshi for a briefing and preparation session. This is your chance to rent any missing gear and get ready for the adventure ahead. Spend the night in Moshi, getting a good rest before your hike begins.
Day 1: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp
Your journey starts at Umbwe Gate, where you will begin the steep ascent through the rainforest. The path is narrow and winding, offering stunning views of the lush vegetation. After a challenging hike, you will reach Umbwe Cave Camp, where you will set up for the night.
Day 2: Umbwe Cave Camp to Barranco Camp
Today’s trek takes you from Umbwe Cave Camp to Barranco Camp. The trail becomes steeper and rockier as you climb higher. You will pass through the heath and moorland zones, with the landscape gradually changing. Barranco Camp offers spectacular views of the Great Barranco Wall.
Day 3: Barranco Camp Acclimatization
Spend the day at Barranco Camp to acclimatize. This is a crucial step in ensuring your body adjusts to the altitude. You can take short hikes around the area and enjoy the stunning scenery, preparing yourself for the higher altitudes ahead.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
