Day 1: Momella Gate to Mariakamba Hut

Begin your journey at Momella Gate, where you’ll start your hike through the lush, green forests of Arusha National Park. As you make your way to Mariakamba Hut, keep an eye out for wildlife such as buffaloes, giraffes, and various bird species. The trail offers moderate difficulty, with a gradual ascent providing a great introduction to the mountain.

Day 2: Mariakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

Continue your ascent from Mariakamba Hut to Saddle Hut, passing through scenic grasslands and misty forests. The path becomes steeper, challenging your endurance, but rewards you with stunning views of the Meru Crater and Little Meru. Upon reaching Saddle Hut, you can rest and prepare for the early morning summit attempt.

Day 3: Saddle Hut to Socialist Peak and back to Mariakamba Hut

Start your pre-dawn climb to Socialist Peak from Saddle Hut, navigating rocky paths and steep slopes in the dark. As the sun rises, you’ll reach the summit, greeted by breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscape. After celebrating your achievement, descend back to Saddle Hut for a short rest before continuing to Mariakamba Hut for the night.

Day 4: Mariakamba Hut to Momella Gate

On the final day, descend from Mariakamba Hut to Momella Gate, retracing your steps through the beautiful forests and open plains of Arusha National Park. Enjoy the diverse flora and fauna along the way, reflecting on the incredible journey you’ve completed. Arrive at Momella Gate, where your unforgettable 4 days Mount Meru hiking adventure concludes.
